Michael Sabia is the President and CEO of Hydro\u2011Qu\u00e9bec. He served as the Deputy Minister of the Department of Finance Canada from 2020 to\u00a02023. He is also the former Director of the Munk School of Global Affairs & Public Policy at the University of Toronto.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
From March\u00a02009 to January\u00a02020, Mr.\u00a0Sabia served as President and CEO of the Caisse de d\u00e9p\u00f4t et placement du Qu\u00e9bec\u00a0(CDPQ), where he oversaw the strategic direction of CDPQ and the global growth of the organization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Before joining CDPQ, Mr.\u00a0Sabia held senior positions with BCE, including President and CEO. From\u00a01993 to 1999, he was a senior executive with Canadian National Railway, where he became Chief Financial Officer. Mr.\u00a0Sabia spent the preceding decade working as a senior official in the Government of Canada, as the Deputy Secretary to the Cabinet and in senior positions in the Department of\u00a0Finance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mr. Sabia has been Chair of the Board of the Canada Infrastructure Bank. He was also a member of the Canadian Government\u2019s Advisory Council on Economic\u00a0Growth. Mr.\u00a0Sabia serves on the Mastercard Foundation Board of\u00a0Directors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Mr. Sabia is an Officer of the Order of Canada.
