{"id":5195,"date":"2026-04-23T20:52:35","date_gmt":"2026-04-23T20:52:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/fnmpc.ca\/conference\/?post_type=speaker&#038;p=5195"},"modified":"2026-04-29T14:56:18","modified_gmt":"2026-04-29T14:56:18","slug":"lieutenant-colonel-scott-moody","status":"publish","type":"speaker","link":"https:\/\/fnmpc.ca\/conference\/speaker\/lieutenant-colonel-scott-moody\/","title":{"rendered":"Lieutenant Colonel Scott Moody"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-custom-alignment\"><strong>Lieutenant-Colonel Scott Moody, ADC, CD,<\/strong> Commanding Officer of the 3rd Canadian Rangers Patrol Group<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-custom-alignment\">LCol Scott Moody\u00a0started his career in the Canadian Armed Forces in 1991 and an Infantryman.\u00a0 He first served as a Non-Commissioned Officer and later commissioned from the rank of Warrant Officer in 2009.\u00a0 LCol Moody deployed on expeditionary operations in Bosnia 1997-98 and Afghanistan 2008-2009. In 2010, he returned to Afghanistan as the Security Advisor on the Dahla Dam project, a Government of Canada signature project which improved agriculture and irrigation within Kandahar Province. From 2020 to 2023 he commanded the Queen\u2019s Own Rifles of Canada an Army Reserve unit located in Toronto.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-custom-alignment\">Since 2023, he has commanded the 3<sup>rd<\/sup>\u00a0Canadian Ranger Patrol Group.\u00a0 The group consists of 100 person Headquarters located in CFB Borden and Canadian Ranger patrols in 28 Northern Ontario\u00a0First Nations communities that are predominately isolated and fly-in only.\u00a0 3 CRPG also manages the Junior Canadian Ranger cadet program.\u00a0 There are approximately 700 Canadian Rangers and 700 Junior Canadian Rangers in Ontario, 95% of which identify as Indigenous. The role of the Canadian Ranger program is to provide a military presence in communities and support Canadian Armed Forces and other government department operations.\u00a0 In Northern Ontario, Canadian Rangers play a major role in supporting the OPP by conducting Ground Search and Rescue in or around patrol communities, saving 25 people annually.\u00a0<\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":5196,"template":"","meta":{"_acf_changed":true},"conference_year":[44],"speaker-type":[],"class_list":["post-5195","speaker","type-speaker","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","conference_year-44"],"acf":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/fnmpc.ca\/conference\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/speaker\/5195","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/fnmpc.ca\/conference\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/speaker"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/fnmpc.ca\/conference\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/speaker"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/fnmpc.ca\/conference\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/5196"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/fnmpc.ca\/conference\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=5195"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"conference_year","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/fnmpc.ca\/conference\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/conference_year?post=5195"},{"taxonomy":"speaker-type","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/fnmpc.ca\/conference\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/speaker-type?post=5195"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
