Drawing on the work of the Harvard Project on Indigenous Governance and Development, he will explore how strong, culturally aligned self-governance drives sustainable economic growth. The Project partners closely with Indigenous leaders, demonstrating how empowering communities through effective governance leads to lasting prosperity and resilience.
Case Study: The Southern Ute Growth Fund, founded in 2000, manages the business and investments of the Southern Ute Indian Tribe. It oversees a diverse portfolio aimed at long-term tribal prosperity. As of March 2024, the Tribe held US$3.5 billion in available funds, with business units valued at US$4 billion.
